adidas Originals AS 230 are back

The 1980s adidas AS 230 is coming back! These are one of the first revivals in size? 2021 ‘Archive Series’.

adidas Originals’ AS series – an abbreviation of adidas – was introduced in the 1980s. Each pair boasted an individual number to correspond to each style, and for the most part, they were slightly tweaked redesigns of pre-existing adidas models – the AS 500 worked upon adidas’ Milano for example. The models were typically only available to the Japanese market as part of the country’s promotional “Adidas Club” pack; although some pairs made their way onto European shelves, the majority remained elusive.

The AS 230 has been one of those elusive pairs for over 40 years. Design-wise, it incorporates elements of adidas’ Samba and Universal silhouettes, and for our duo of releases, we’ve taken it back to basics, not messed with the original, and brought it back in its famed navy blue makeups.

Plush navy-hued suede, contrasting stitching, gold foil lettering, light blue leather applications for one pair and yellow for the other, and of course a gum sole. As a nod to the country that made the pair made its debut, we’ve printed the footbeds with decorative Japanese text for a finishing touch – yes, it’s a beauty.

The adidas Originals AS 230 release date is 2021.03.04, it will be available via the size? launches app only.

Here some photos how the adidas AS 230 looked like when was first introduced – in the 1980s. Hope other three CW’s will be reissued too.
